  would someone seriously consider arranging for an apostafest up in scotland next year?

  i know i'm asking this early but i feel it would be good to put the feelers out now.. obviously, it would have to be a location easy to get to - so that means stornoway is out!

  Firstly, congratulations on the baby news!

  Apparently there is rugby on in Edinburgh that weekend but it is not any big international match, it is the quarter finals of the Heineken Cup, which I presume is nowhere near as well supported.

  I think the date should be fine as long as everyone hurrys up and books hotels and the venue is arranged.

  We have booked flights and hotels but if no one else can come we'll just have a wonderful time in Edinburgh by ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  I agree totally with your comments.

  For years as I was growing up it was constantly drummed into me that the Kingdom Halls were plain and functional, not ostentatious, and how it was the witnessing work that counted and not the buildings.

  I remember the old postcards showing all the facilities of Bethel, mainly in Brooklyn, and I used to think that they must take an awful lot of money to upkeep. It seemed like the society was boasting about all the wonderful buildings it 'needed' to publish the good news.

  With the Stanley Theatre it seems a case of 'flaunt what you've got'.

  So is Murrayfield IN Edinburgh then?!

  I've only been to Jockland once and that was to Glasgow and then up to the Isle of Skye.

  We've booked an hotel right in the city centre - we don't think a venue has been chosen but we thought that if we booked a central hotel we could just jump in a cab to get to the venue.

  Sorry if we have preempted any plans for everyone going to stay at the same place.

  We presumed that because different folks will have different budgets we thought we would book somewhere ourselves.

  If anyone wants to know where it is that's fine but we thought it may not be the right thing to broadcast it.

  If anyone wants details you can pm myself or Bubble.

  We suggest that people start booking hotels NOW as when we tried to book our first choice hotel we were told it was fully booked as Scotland are playing rugby at Murrayfield (near Edinburgh) that weekend.

  claire asked me to let the board know that ian is back in the hospital and expected to be there for about a week.. those of you who have been following the weekly vigil thread know that his cmv has returned.

  the virus is not responding adequately to the tablets, so ian needs to be medicated intravenously.. please keep ian and claire in your prayers.. marjorie.

  My father (an elder) once had to grow a beard because of an abcess - it would have been dangerous for him to shave and risk cutting into the abcess.

  Anyway, he was not given any asignments whislt he had the facial hair. How weird.

  I've grown a goatie - my wife likes it but it really does show my grey!
